Linda's Story
Life
I graduated from QC in January 1968 and started to teach immediately in the Bronx. It was at the time of the killing of Dr. M.L. King. After leaving that school, I taught in Harlem & then was robbed in my classroom & then decided to study in Israel. I arrived in Israel in September 1969 . I lived there for 1 and one half years and then returned home to Flushing, NY to teach in St. Albans, Laurelton, South Jamaica and ended up in Whitestone. Teaching was a challenge! I married in 1989. We have 9 cats!
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
I enjoy walking, swimming, playing with babies, older children, animals especially dogs & cats, watching t.v. or a movie and reading. I also love to use the computer, read, or talk on the phone. I like to take photos, scrapbook and write letters and stories & poems!
My hero is Superwoman, Natan Scharanski,Gloria Steinem,Yonni Netanyahu, Moshe and Yael Dayan,as well as other Jews especially Israelis!
The one person from my past whom I'd most like to see again is my father, because I miss him terribly..
Cats, Kittens, Puppies, Dogs, Guinea Pigs, Horses,Baseball, Soccer, Hockey, Swimming.
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on an Israeli home and my own plane.
My current age is 64. When I...Expand for more
was 12, I thought that people my age now would be so old. I was so completely dumb!.
My best friend would tell you I'm warm & loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and aloof!.
I share my home with husband, whom I find loving and comforting!.
In 10 years, I hope to be healthier. I'm going to get there by exercising & dieting!.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were half right.
I walk, watch t.v., play with my cats, garden, call my sisters, brother and friends!
My hero is my mom! Shee survived losing her beloved husband to death when she was only 48! She is very strong! She raised four wonderful, self-actualizing children! She is adored by her kids, grandkids and great-grand children! My mom always walked everywhere! She was kind & accepting of my friends! She is an eshet-chayel(a Woman of Valor in our Jewish faith!)
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a indoor sunroom. My dream home would be one story and big!.
Yes, in a way I still dress like a 60's hippy!
I walk, garden, brush my cats and play with them, drive somewhere like to a pond or a beach, call a friend or visit a friend, write, use our computer, read, listen to good music, go to a movie,or just watch t.v.
I was a beloved and good teacher!
